Taking the Art World by Storm

Showcasing two premier artists!
Katie Kuzin
When someone unknown contacts me with a business inquiry, I immediately Google them, so when Katie Kuzin reached out about buying an apartment, I went to her website and ended up purchasing one of her sculptures, despite not making a real estate deal.

I found her artwork extremely appealing (especially the use of acrylics) and affordable and while I’m hardly a collector, the journalist side of me has always been fascinated by the art world. I’ve seen numerous artists skyrocket from obscurity to stardom (I’m old enough to remember Keith Haring tagging subway stations) and those gold rush stories have always captivated the public as well.

A friend recently asked me about up and coming artists, so of course I mentioned Katie, and then sat down with her to learn more about which artists she follows.  Katie began her career designing exhibits at the Smithsonian, so I wasn’t surprised to hear that she is curating a show called Balance.

The show’s concept was to find two artists with distinctly different styles, so using social media, she reached out to a large number of artists and chose two — Joseph Cartright and Nikki Shapiro.  The three of them met at a café, where Katie pitched the show, which will feature large scale paintings and photography.

We will have plenty of complimentary beverages courtesy of June Shine and tunes from on-site DJ G-Vision Don’t miss the opportunity to witness the perfect balance between colors, shapes, sounds and feeling. Come be a part of this celebration of art.
