Hurray for Herb Alpert

Today it’s become commonplace to see musical legends perform, although the venues are almost always limited to enormous stadiums and arenas, which is why Herb Alpert’s upcoming visit to the Café Carlyle is so unique.

Herb and his wife, Grammy winning vocalist Lani Hall, will perform a limited run from November 14th – 25th playing only nine shows: no performance on Thanksgiving.  Herb, Lani and their incredible band will perform an eclectic mix of American standards, Brazilian jazz, some Beatles tunes, and of course classic songs from the Tijuana Brass and Brazil ’66.

Herb really understands how to work in a small, intimate space and he engages with the audience so casually, it feels as if you’re hanging out in someone’s living room.  Herb always asks if anyone has questions and the result is always some wonderful banter between him, Lani and the audience.

There’s always a sing-along to This Guy’s In Love With You, perhaps Herb’s most famous recording.

As you’ll note below, the show is pricey, but it comes with a sumptuous dinner, which is a deal compared with the outrageous ticket prices paid by twenty thousand-plus screaming fans at an arena.

Tickets are available online via Tock—Tuesday to Thursday: General Seating $120 per person/ Premium Seating $170 / Bar Seating $95; Friday & Saturday: General Seating $150 per person / Premium Seating $200 / Bar Seating $120.

Café Carlyle is located in The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel (35 East 76th Street, at Madison Avenue).
